Brava Beach in Punta Del Este - Uruguay

Punta del Este's scenic coastline is divided in two regions: Brava (Spanish for "fierce") and Mansa (Spanish for "tame").


Brava beach:


Brava beach is one of the most well - known and visited of the peninsula. It is really close from the peninsula and has got parking area.

It is known for “the fingers” that come out the sand. “the fingers” is the "Monumento al Ahogado", which the sculptor designed to warn swimmers about the danger of rough waves.

Brava beach is a beach of thick sand and dangerous sea, the waves there are good for surf. There are many places where you can find gastronomic services and rent of sunshades.

Montoya Beach in Punta del Este - Uruguay

Montoya Beach in Punta del Este:


Montoya beach is a well-known beach of Punta del Este.
It is known for its extension, thick sand and wavy too, due to this reason is visited by surfers.

During the whole year it is visited by surfers and on it surf championships take place as well as volley and football ones.

Montoya Beach:


This is one important ocean-facing beach in Punta del Este and one of the best-known ones in al the seaside town.

It is located immediately after La Barra and marks the beginning of a stretch of ocean beaches that continues up to the seaside resort known as Jose Ignacio.

Since it is a wide beach with great waves and coarse sand, one of the stages of the World Surfing Championship is held here during the summer.

Faro de Jose Ignacio - Uruguay

Faro de José Ignacio

El faro de José Ignacio, se encuentra ubicado sobre el Océano Atlántico, en el balneario Jose Ignacio aproximadamente a 40 km de la ciudad de Punta del Este en el departamento de Maldonado - Uruguay.

El Faro de José Ignacio fue construido en el extremo más saliente y rocoso de la península con el objetivo de evitar naufragios en la zona. El Faro fue inaugurado en el año 1877; desde la inauguración el Faro estuvo a cargo de la empresa Costa y Cía. cuya concesión finalizó en el año 1907, donde el faro de José Ignacio pasó a manos del Estado Uruguayo.

El Faro de José Ignacio es símbolo del lugar, su estructura es fantástica, su torre circular es de piedra y tiene una altura de 32,5 metros, su alcance geográfico es de 16.5 millas y su alcance lumínico es de 9 millas. Su intensidad luminosa es de 1550 candelas y emite un destello blanco cada 2 segundos.

El faro de José Ignacio brinda una excelente vista desde su parte más alta, pagando una módica entrada que habilita a los visitantes a subir a la parte más alta del faro, podremos apreciar su excelente vista.
